Exploring Naha Walking 4 Hour Tour

Tour Description

Do you want to see how Okinawan royalty lived? This four hour walking tour will take you through the Shuri and Maaji sections of Naha City. We will first visit Tamaudun Mausoleum, the final resting place for many members of the royal family of the second Sho Dynasty. Then we will tour the grounds of Shuri Castle to learn about life in Okinawa, when it was an independent nation, the Ryukyu Kingdom. After time for a snack and drink at a local cafe, we will then walk to the Kinjo-cho Stone Paved Road. Originally built in 1522 to connect Shuri Castle with the south of Okinawa, a small section of this road still exists to this day, which we will be able to explore. Finally, we will drive to Shikinaen Royal Gardens, a second residence and reception hall for the kings of the Ryukyu Kingdom, where we will explore the grounds. Cost: 8,000 Yen per Person This fee covers: Pick up and drop off at the Shuri Monorail Station Transportation and all transportation related fees Your guided tour Additional Costs: 300 Yen/Person for Tamaudun Mausoleum 400 Yen/Person for Shikinaen Royal Gardens Approximately 1,000 Yen/Person for the cafe Additional money for any souvenirs or purchases Activity Level: This tour includes physical activity. We will walk up stairs and on uneven walking surfaces. Some stops will include longer distances at a leisurely pace (less than 2 miles) or extended periods of standing (up to two hours). This tour is for visitors age 10 and over.
